My Favorite Gear

Everyone has a favorite piece of gear. Something that makes a difference for you whether you wear it or simply keep it nearby.  This item may give you comfort when going out for a ride, or could even give you confidence that you’ll rock the race.  Actually it might not be the entire piece of equipment but just one aspect of it.  What if it’s the heart rate reading on you Garmin?  Or the “on” beeping it makes when you hit power?  Maybe it’s the shape or the color of your sunglasses and how they make your face look fierce.  It could even be the loud purple in your racing kit that exudes confidence and warns everyone that you’re a force to be reckoned with.

For me it’s the green bracelet for my Road ID.  I wear a lot of black and blue; even my bike sports the same color scheme, and having something that's bright green around my wrist stands out nicely.  Also I love how green is the color that represents growth and renewal.  Of course wearing this bracelet gives me peace of mind while training because If something were to happen, my key information is right there. Having this security helps me focus on the workout at hand while serving as a little reminder of what’s important in this world of triathlons and in life.

What’s your favorite piece of gear? Or what part of your equipment do you like?  What makes it special to you?
